The Other Singularity: Introduction Video

The AI singularity as described by Ray Kurzweil is a now famous proclamation that artificial intelligence will supersede human intelligence, and around about now, according to the futurist’s 2005 prediction in his book the Singularity is Near. It’s now 20 years later and Kurzweil’s predictions are in some ways very accurate. We appear to be on the verge of AI general intelligence. However, there is another kind of singularity upon us, the less well appreciated moment in human history that will shift the very nature of consciousness and humanity’s place in the cosmos. This is the moment we finally accept the reality that human consciousness is not merely a product of the brain, but transcends time and space as currently understood in physics and science.
